USAARL Opp #3

Assessment of Impact Protection provided by Army Helmet

Research Opportunity Location:
Fort Novosel, AL

Research Opportunity Description:
The participant will assist researchers in performing impact tests of Army helmets using devices such as drop towers and linear impactors. These studies are intended to assess the protection provided by the helmet under varying impact severities. The participant will process data, assist in preparing presentation materials, and contribute writing to a technical report. The participant will be expected to employ MATLAB in performing data analysis, Microsoft PowerPoint for presenting results, and Microsoft Word for reporting results, and to apply engineering principals towards technical problem solving.

Research Opportunity Skill Set:

Calculus, engineering mechanics, proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), proficiency in the use of MATLAB for data analysis and visualization

USAARL Opp #4

Neurophysiological Correlates of Flight Performance

Research Opportunity Location:
Fort Novosel, AL

Research Opportunity Description:
The participant will engage in a project that involves collecting neurophysiological data during various flights in a Black Hawk simulator. The participant will conduct data mining efforts investigating the neurophysiological correlates of flight performance.

Research Opportunity Skill Set:

Statistics, R programming, background/interest in neurophysiology, interest in electroencephalogram.
